Easy…Breezy…Beautiful...Wedges!!!

Summer is approaching and we PasSHOEnista’s want to be both fashionable and comfortable. For the longest I’ve been in complete love with wedge heel shoes. Wedges offer me the opportunity to be comfortable and sheik.  I love to wear a pair of wedges with my favorite pair of crop pants or a banging maxi dress.  Wedges are one of the more versatile shoes....

Check out DSW and find your perfect wedge shoe for the summer :)

"The wedge itself may have decorations or designs, and can be made with molded plastic or rubber. Wedge heels can have what looks like an artificial wood-grain, be covered with jute rope, as is the case with espadrilles, or simply look like an extension of the sole featuring the same essential color as the shoe. One of the most popular wedge heels in the late 70s and early 80s was made by the shoe manufacturer Candies. These shoes had hard plastic wedge heels and again became briefly popular in the 1990s and 2000s. "~WiseGeek

No matter what you call it or what it's made of I call them simply the best shoes ever!!!!

Take my poll and tell me what's your favorite summer strutting shoe !!!

Reaching People All Around the World...One Step @ A Time !!!

Courtesy of TOMS.com

I first learned about TOMS from my younger "Fashion Diva" cousin a few years ago. @ first I have to admit, I didn't see anything special about the fashion appearance of the classic TOMS shoe but as I did a little more research, I was drawn to the company by their mission and purpose. TOMS has helped provide over 1 Million people brand new shoes to needy children!

This is short of amazing!!!TOMS motto is "One for One". Each time someone purchases a pair of shoes from TOMS a child in need receives a pair of shoes! Talk about a 2 for 1 deal!!! I am PasSHOEnate about giving back to the community and what better way to give back than with SHOES!!! I admire their brand for reaching out and trying something new.

Shoe's not only cure the blues but that can help someone in need.
On April 2011, TOMS started an initiative called One Day Without Shoes. According to TOMS there are million of children in need of shoes to protect them from various soil based dieases. Not only do the shoes protect them from diseases but also it allow children to go to school because shoes are a requirement!

"In Africa, there is a desperate need for footwear that will protect from highly prevalent neglected tropical diseases transmitted through the soil" ~ Dr. Peter Hotez, MD, PHD

Color blocking,Shoe rocking…DIVA

It’s no secret that one of the hottest trends in fashion today is Color Block. For those who don’t know, Color Blocking is when a garment or shoe consists of  “blocks” of color in it. According to Glamour.com, Cheerful Color-Blocking is one of the hottest trends in Spring 2012 fashion, spring runways were more colorful than the crowd at a Lady Gaga concert.
I find this trend to be fabulous especially in shoes!!!

This week I purchased the cutest color blocking stiletto from Macy's designed by International Concept (INC). (The picture below are my actual shoes...cute! I know right :)

Everyone is joining in on the color block trend from The Today Show, news Anchor Ann Curry to the First Lady Michelle Obama! She is such a Fashion Icon!!! The current phase of the Color Block has been around for more than a year but the Color Block trend has entered reintroduced itself throughout fashion history!  I've seen the Color Block trend throughout the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's. Major retailers like Macys.com have even dedicated entire categories to color block shoes. Personally, I am so glad it is back!!!

Check out the video below for about the Color Blocking Shoe Trend

So put on your highest Stiletto and strut on over to Master the Color-Block Trend : Lucky Magazine

No Pain No Gain!!! How high is too high???

Courtesy of www.livescience.com

I love high heels but I will admit that sometimes they are EXTREMELY uncomfortable!!!  I have several categories of shoes: the sitting heel, the walking heel, and the “no more than 2 hours” standing heel
J According to LiveScience.com wearing high heels can cause shortened calf muscles, heel and ankle pain, hip and spine pain,
and joint degeneration and knee osteoarthritis.

WITH ALL THAT SAID!!! Personally I would rather be fashionable than comfortable. I am waiting for some of my favorite brands (Nine West, Michael Kors, BCBG, and Kenneth Cole) to come out with very fashion forward high heels that are both trendy and comfortable.Companies like Sofft have started to produce comfortable heels but there is still a big difference. I’ve never seen a Sofft stiletto! Have you? I visited Sofftshoe.com and did a little PasShoenista research! The highest heel I found on the company’s website was 3 ½ inch stacked heel.

Shoe lesson 101: Stacked heel does not equal Stiletto! While visiting Sofft Shoes.com, I did see several cute regular heels. So I am challenging Sofft Shoes and other similar companies to create a comfortable sexy stiletto! This would be a dream come true for many PasShoenista’s like me.

PasShoenista's everywhere, I want to hear from you. Let me know who much discomfort will you/ have you endured in order to be fashionable!!!!

Crazy Shoe News: People have definitely gone way too far!!! But hey if the shoes fits....

According to ONTD, "Women are hotfooting it to plastic surgeons for 'toe jobs' — that ease the agony of wearing towering heels like Victoria Beckham’s. Operations to inject cushioning "fillers" into toes, heels and the balls of the feet have doubled in the past year, Brit surgeons said yesterday."

Height Haters!!!!

I'm 5’8 and I LOVE high heels! Often times I hear other tall females talking about being too tall and avoiding high heels!!!  Most of my life I've been the tallest female around! When I was younger it bothered me but as I grew UP, I started to appreciate my height. I can often be seen wearing at least a 4 inch heel; towering over some of my friends.  I encourage every tall female to EMBRACE their height!

After visiting twitter (Follow me on Twitter)..many people are tweeting about tall girls in high heels:

Why Are you 8'4 @ the club! I Couldn't Dance With You if I Had A Beanstalk!!

“Tall girls shouldn't wear such high heels”

“ Girls that are short can wear high heels and look good, but girls that are tall and wear high heels not attractive!":(

I have to strongly disagree with these Tweets! Nothing is unattractive about a tall confident women who wears high heels and it you’re a short man either GROW UP or learn to appreciate a tall PasSHOEnista!!! Shoes are made to be worn and I don’t discriminate. Nothings better than slipping your toes into the perfect stiletto!!!

I want to encourage all TALL FEMALES to embrace your height! Love who you are, height and all !!!

Kimora Lee is a perfect example of a tall PaSHOEnista that embraces her height and her heels!!!

Embrace your height!!! And like Kimora says, " Hating someone will not make you an prettier!

There is no place like....DSW ???

 Hello PasSHOEnista's,

I had a really hard day at work yesterday, so what better way to recuperate than shoe retail therapy. So I headed over to one of my favorite shoe stores, Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW), in hopes of releasing stress, finding a great steal, and earning some Shoe Lover (That's me!) Rewards.

Stress Relief + Shoe Steal + Rewards= Win + Win+ Win

As I entered the store, I slightly remember hearing the sales associate greeting me
" Welcome to DSW", I was so focused on SHOES!!!  I started to reunite with some of my best friends (shoes of course:). I reunited with Cia Bella, Nine West, Franco Sarto, BCBG, and Betsy Johnson. The bright lights and rows of bright colorful wedges, stilettos, boots, and flats had me in a trance.

I am a bargain shopper by nature, so of course I headed straight to the clearance section in search for the best deal possible. I have my own Shoe Steal Strategy (S3). I always start from the highest discounted items on down( 80%, 70%, 50%, 40%, 30% off). I began to scan the rows of my size (10) in search for the yellow 80% off sticker! The yellow sticker is very rare to find and not even listed on DSW marketing material but I always look for the infamous YELLOW sticker (which never changes, I know my DSW PasSHOEnista's already know this!) I scanned all the aisles and I didn't find a yellow sticker deal yesterday :( So on to the next part of my master plan... I searched and looked and finally found a very cute pair of high heel peep-toe shoe by one of my new FAVORITE brands MRKT called Andie ! As I tried on the shoe and looked at my foot in the wall length mirror, I instantly fell in love <3 .HAD TO HAVE THEM!!!  Regularly $ 120.00, I paid only $40.00!

$80.00 off now that's a STEAL. I was too happy :0...Once again, S3 Shoe Mission accomplished!!

There's no place like home ....DSW!!!

Sealed with a heel,

PasSHOEnista
